Monouchi: The Field

Terms of Use

Draft — governing law awaits sign-off

Effective 30 August 2026 · Last updated 30 August 2026

The rules for playing Monouchi: The Field and for putting a name on its public leaderboard.

Scope

What these terms are, and are not

These Terms of Use are between you and Banana Fana LLC, the publisher of Monouchi: The Field. They govern your use of the game and, above all, the one thing in it that other people see: the display name you can put on the public leaderboard.

They are not the licence for the app itself. On iOS, the app is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; on Google Play, the store transaction is governed by Google Play's own terms. Nothing here replaces either. Where these terms and a store's terms both speak, the store's terms govern your relationship with the store, and these terms govern your relationship with us.

Acceptance

Accepting these terms

You accept these terms when you join the leaderboard — before your first display name is submitted. If you do not accept them, do not join the board; the game is fully playable without it, and nothing else in the game requires acceptance of anything.

The rules

Display names

A display name is 2 to 16 characters — letters, digits, spaces, and — and it is published to everyone. These are the rules for what it may not be.

A display name must not contain or consist of:

  • slurs or hate — attacks on any group by race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or nationality, however spelled or disguised;
  • harassment or threats — targeting, mocking, or menacing any person;
  • sexual content of any kind;
  • impersonation — passing yourself off as another player, any real person, or as us (names such as “admin”, “official”, and “Monouchi” are reserved);
  • personal information — real full names, ages, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or anything else that identifies a real person, including you;
  • advertising — promotion of any product, service, site, or channel;
  • anything illegal to publish, anywhere the board is shown.

By joining the board you grant Banana Fana LLC the right to display your chosen name and your scores publicly on the leaderboard, on every platform the game ships on, for as long as your entry stands. That is the only licence you grant us, and deleting your entry ends it.

Moderation

How moderation works

Plainly, and in full — this is everything we do:

  • Filtering is automated. Every name is checked by the same automated filter twice — in the game as you type, and on our server before anything is accepted. The filter blocks names that break the character rules, reserved names, and a list of abusive terms including disguised spellings. Rejected names are not stored.
  • Reports hide entries automatically. Any player can report any entry that is not their own. An entry reported by three players is hidden from the board automatically, without human review. Hidden entries are withheld, not deleted, so a wrong report can be reversed.
  • We can hide or remove entries ourselves. We may hide or remove any entry, and may exclude an installation from the board, where we judge a name against these rules. We are not obliged to warn first or to give reasons, though we will answer if you write to us.

There is no automated decision here that has legal effect on you: the worst the system can do on its own is hide a nickname from a scoreboard, and any hiding can be reviewed and reversed by a person. If your entry was hidden or removed and you think that was wrong, email hello@monouchi.com and a person will look at it.

Reporting a name

Beside every leaderboard row that is not yours there is a flag control (⚑). Tap it to report the entry. You can also email hello@monouchi.com — for anything that needs faster or more careful attention than a flag, including anything you believe is unlawful.

Purchases

Purchases

Not applicable today. The game contains no purchases, subscriptions, or paid content of any kind. If that ever changes, this section will be rewritten before anything is offered for sale — including who the seller of record is and how refunds work.

The usual, plainly

Disclaimer

The game and the leaderboard are provided as they are, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise the leaderboard will always be reachable, that entries will be preserved, or that the game is free of defects. Scores are nicknames on a scoreboard, not property, and hold no monetary value.

Nothing in these terms limits rights the law gives you that cannot be limited by agreement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Banana Fana LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the game or the leaderboard, and our total liability for anything arising from them is limited to the amount you paid us for the game — which, today, is nothing.

The frame

Governing law

These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of the State of [GOVERNING-LAW-STATE], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules — except where the law of your country of residence gives you protections that apply regardless.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters — new name rules, new moderation powers, a purchases section that stops being a placeholder — we will give notice in the game before the change takes effect and move the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to keep a name on the board after a change takes effect means accepting the changed terms; if you do not accept them, leave the board in Settings and, if you wish, ask us to delete your entries.

Breach

If you break these terms we may hide or remove your entries and exclude your installation from the leaderboard. Nothing else in the game is affected — the game itself is not taken from you.
