Draft — analytics decision awaits sign-off

Effective 30 August 2026 · Last updated 30 August 2026

This notice covers the monouchi.com website — these pages, their cookies, and their analytics. The Monouchi: The Field game does not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics; its data practices are described separately in the game privacy policy.

The operator

Who runs this site

monouchi.com is run by Banana Fana LLC, a United States limited liability company. For anything in this notice, write to hello@monouchi.com.

The rule

The site is built so that no Google code loads, and no request reaches Google, until you press Allow on the consent banner. Declining loads nothing, ever. There is no pre-loading, no “legitimate interest” toggle, and nothing hidden behind a settings link — one question, two equal buttons.

Your choice — either way — is remembered in your browser's local storage under the key monouchi.site.consent, so you are not asked on every page. That stored choice is the only thing the site's own code ever writes to your browser; the cookies in the table below are set by Google's code, and only after you allow it.

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, the site treats it as a standing refusal: no banner is shown and no Google tag loads, whatever was chosen before.

As of the effective date above, no analytics has been switched on at all — the site currently sets no cookies and sends nothing to Google for any visitor. The sections below describe what runs, and what you are consenting to, once it is.

The inventory

Cookies and what sets them

Google Analytics — only after you allow it

With your consent, the site uses Google Analytics 4, a service of Google LLC, to count visits and see how the site is found and read: pages viewed, the referring site, browser and device type, and country or city-level location. Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies:

Cookies set by Google Analytics, with consent
Cookie Purpose Lifetime
_ga Distinguishes one visitor from another. 2 years
_ga_<container-id> Keeps session state for this site's Analytics property. 2 years

When Google's code runs, your browser also sends Google the address of the page you are on and your IP address. Google explains how it handles data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites — and its privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Tag Manager — a loader, not a cookie

The Analytics tag may be loaded through Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager sets nothing on your device itself — it is a loader — but fetching it is a request to Google carrying your IP address and the page URL, which is exactly why it too is blocked until you consent.

Search Console — nothing

The site is registered with Google Search Console so we can see how search finds it. Search Console sets nothing on visitors — site verification is a DNS record, not a cookie.

Cloudflare — hosting, strictly operational

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may set strictly-necessary operational cookies of its own (such as __cf_bm, which lasts about 30 minutes) to protect the site from abuse. These are security plumbing, not tracking, and no consent is required for them.

The basis

Legal basis, retention, and transfers

The legal basis for analytics is your consent — given on the banner, withdrawable below. Everything else this site does (serving pages, security) rests on our legitimate interest in running a website at all, and involves no profiling of anyone.

How long: the analytics cookies last as shown in the table above; event data held by Google Analytics for this site is retained for the period configured in the property — 2 months — before automatic deletion. Your consent choice stays in your browser until you clear it or withdraw.

Where it goes: analytics data is processed by Google LLC in the United States. Google acts as our processor for Google Analytics, under Google's data processing terms, which incorporate the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses as a safeguard for international transfers; Google LLC is also certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, its UK Extension, and the Swiss–US DPF. (That certification is Google's, not ours — this site itself claims no DPF participation.)

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and this site runs no advertising, no session-replay tooling, no chat widget, and no third-party pixels of any kind.

Your choice

Withdrawing consent

Withdrawing is as easy as consenting, and it happens here:

Checking your current choice…

The button clears your stored choice, tells any loaded Google code that consent is denied, and reloads the page — after which nothing loads unless you allow it again. You can also clear the site's data in your browser, which removes both the choice and any analytics cookies. Google additionally offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics everywhere: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Your rights

Your rights

If the GDPR applies to you, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority. If the UK GDPR applies, you have the same rights, the right to complain directly to us under section 164A of the Data Protection Act 2018, and the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Note the practical shape of this site, though: it holds no accounts and cannot identify you — analytics data lives with Google under a random cookie id, so the most complete erasure is the withdrawal and cookie-clearing described above. For anything else, email hello@monouchi.com.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. This site does not track anyone across other sites or services, with or without the signal, so it does not change the site's behaviour — though the stronger Global Privacy Control signal is honoured as a refusal of analytics, as described above.

Changes

Changes to this notice

If the site's tooling changes — a tool added, a tool dropped — this notice will be updated and the effective date moved before the change goes live. Material changes are flagged on this page itself; the “last updated” line moves with any edit.

This notice covers monouchi.com only. The Monouchi game collects nothing unless you join its leaderboard, and never uses Google Analytics — see the game privacy policy.
